Complete the In-Range Progression Request Form in addition to any required supporting documentation.

Follow established internal Departmental process to verify funding availability.
Forward packet to Human Resources (Note: all employee-requests for IRPs must be forwarded to Human Resources, whether or not funding is available).
Review process shall be completed no later than 90 days from the date that the request is received in Human Resources.
Following a complete review, the appropriate Cabinet-level officer shall decide upon the IRP request and return packet to Human Resources – this decision is final and is non-grievable.
Human Resources shall then provide a letter to the administrator and employee (if approved) as to the result of the IRP request within 30 days of the final decision.
Suggested percentage amount:
2-3% - typical amount to reward for performance (IRPs for employees in Units 2, 5, 7 & 9 must be a minimum of 3% of base salary).
3-8% - would typically apply for IRPs based on equity; increased skills, duties or responsibilities; or retention, with strong supporting documentation.
>8% - would typically be reserved for unit reorganization; requires memo of support from Dean/Director providing a detailed rationale outlining the organizational necessity, relevant internal comparisons, and a verification of the exceptional skills and abilities of the employee.
