Absence Management


Beginning March 2011, HR and DoIT will implement Absence Management, which is part of a CSU system wide implementation of a standard self service leave accounting system.  All CSU campuses will adhere to the established Absence Management Guidelines and Timeliness for online tracking of time and attendance reporting.  We will phase out the Absence and Additional Time Worked Report (Form STD 634) currently used to report time and attendance.  Instead of using the STD 634 forms, employees will log into the SF State Portal, “SF State Gateway” and enter absence information (sick, vacation, personal holiday, CTO time used, e.g.) online.  Authorized managers and supervisors will also log onto the Portal and access Absence Management to validate and approve absences submitted by employees they supervise.  We will roll out the online self service functionality in phases by scheduling pre-designated Cabinet areas and/or departments to being using self service from March 2011 through May 2011.  Each campus department or division will be notified in advance.
