University Housing offers exciting opportunities to get involved in the community.

Residence Hall Association (RHA) is the governing body for the residential community and sponsors numerous activities with both education and social activities and programs. Some of the programs that RHA has sponsored include the Holiday Extravaganza Party, Manicure For A Cure, Jell-O Days, and various other programs presented by organizations in the community, including excursions into the downtown of San Francisco.

RHA is the central coordinating group for Residence Hall Councils as well as student run clubs. RHA provides a variety of services to students on the individual level that aid students in their overall development and growth. On a larger scale, RHA is a member of the Pacific Association of College and University Residence Halls (PACURH), as well as the National Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH) - both are organizations that govern student groups and create legislation to help student-led groups to perform successfully on an institutional level.

One of the main purposes of RHA is to represent the views of the students to University Housing, Associated Students Incorporated, and other offices around campus. It also connects the students to University Administrators through the newly formed Housing Advisory Panel (HAP). RHA uses these resources and connections to communicate the concerns of the students and to enhance the experience of living on campus. Everyone who lives on campus, regardless of whether or not they are involved in a student organization, is a member of RHA and is welcome and encouraged to participate in events in the community and attend regularly held RHA Quorum meetings.

Roles of RHA

  • To bring together student leaders to have fun
  • To promote school pride
  • To act in the best interests of residents
  • To develop leadership skills in students
  • To encourage participation of residents in the community

All current Mary Ward, Mary Park, Science & Technology Themed Community, Towers at Centennial Square, Village at Centennial Square, University Park South, and University Park North residents are eligible to participate in RHA and other housing organizations. To become involved in one of the many programs and organizations happening in the Residence Community, stop by room 106 in Village at Centennial Square, or the Front Desk of any Residence Community.

Everyone who lives on campus, regardless of whether or not they are involved in a student organization, is a member of RHA and is welcome and encouraged to participate in events in the community and attend regularly held RHA Quorum meetings.
