Welcome to your SFSU dining services program, provided by Chartwells Higher Education and the Housing community at SFSU. Our three locations are open to the public and to all SFSU students, including visiting parents, family and friends. We accept cash, credit card, meal plans and Gator Dollars.
We provide healthy and delicious dining variety for your student at three venues on campus (see descriptions below - click on "Where to Dine").
Our main facility, City Eats Dining Center, is buffet-style three meals a day, with lots of fresh options from our culinary team and menus that change daily. It's all about making smart choices, attaining balance, tasting something new and being aware of portion sizes. Our sustainable efforts include local and organic produce, hormone-free meats and dairy, cage-free whole eggs, limiting food waste through education, recycling, composting, waste water reduction at our tray-less facilities, and compostable tableware at our to-go locations.
Meal Plans for our dining locations save money and time, and are available to all SFSU students, including those that live off campus or commute from home. Our three locations are a great place to eat and meet with friends, or to study over a meal between classes.
Parents: we can also prepare yummy treat Gift packages for your student throughout the year from you. Fresh-baked sweets such as cakes, cookies and cupcakes, or healthier options such as fruit boxes or sandwich platters are available for pick up by your student anytime.
City Eats Dining Center is our main dining facility, featuring an all-you-can-eat concept with a variety of well-balanced and creative menus. Open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with hot Entrees at every meal, including Vegetarian and Vegan options, grill favorites such as Burgers, Garden Burgers and Fries, made-to-order Salads, Sandwiches and Soups. Menus change daily (no take-out option) and can be viewed on our website www.dineoncampus.com/sfsu. Use your Gator Dollars, credit card, cash or student meal plan.

For students residing at University Park North, University Park South and anywhere else off-campus or commuting to SFSU from home, meal plans are voluntary and can be purchased by contacting Chartwells at SFSU at (415) 338-2849.
Meal plans save your student time and money, and offers an active student community at our three locations. Visit our website at www.dineoncampus.com/sfsu for more information.
Mark Park Hall, Mary Ward Hall, Towers at Centennial Square, the Village at Centennial Square and STTC
All students living at Mary Park and Mary Ward Halls, STTC, the Towers, and the Village at Centennial Square contractually choose the 19/meals a week, 15/meals a week or 10/meals a week meal plan. The choice depends on their dining habits (whether they eat three to four meals a day) and if they're on campus on weekends. For help in choosing what's right for your student, please feel free to contact us at (415) 338-2849.
Each meal plan also includes $100 in "Gator Dollars" which the students can use at various locations in the Housing part of campus (new students arriving in Spring get $50 in "Gator Dollars").
University Park North and University Park South
These apartments are across the street or a few blocks away from the core campus, and for meal plan purposes, students are considered "off-campus" or "commuter" students. Meal plans are voluntary and allow the student worry-free access to all meals beginning early morning to late night at three locations on campus. Please feel free to contact us at (415) 338-2849 with any meal plan questions.
Meal Plan Change
Requests to reduce to a lower meal plan may only be made until (date to be announced) in fall semester, and (date to be announced) in Spring
Semester. Requests to increase your meal plan may be made at any time during the academic year.
In order to request a change of meal plan, the Licensee must sign a "Change of Meal Plan Request Form" at the University Housing
Business Office before the indicated deadlines. A copy of the signed change form must be presented to the dining center to effect the change.
Gator Dollars
Gator Dollars work just like cash at residential dining facilities and in the residential vending machines. You can use them to buy additional
meals or to invite guests. How you use your gator dollars is up to you.
Your University ID Card also serves as your meal card. Because it is so valuable, we cannot allow it to be transferred, nor can we authorize
another person to use your card. Your meal card is also your Residence ID card and must be shown to any University staff member upon request.
Please carry your Residence ID with you at all times.
If your card is lost, stolen, or damaged for any reason, you will be required to request a new card from the One Card Office in the Student Services Building.
Special Diets
In our continuing effort to meet residents' needs, we give special consideration to students who have medical or religious dietary concerns.
Contact the Dining Services Director for assistance at 415-338-2849.
If the student isn't feel well enough to leave their room, they can arrange for their RA (Resident Assistant) to pick up a to-go meal at the Dining Center. The RA will stop by the Dining Center during operating hours and ask the cashier for a "Bagged Meal" form for the student to fill out. Once the RA picks up the meal, it will be deducted from the student's meal plan.
In an effort to provide a well-rounded service to the resident students, the Vending Service Program allows students to use both cash and Gator
Dollars (on OneCard) to purchase products from all vending machines in the residence halls. The program features brand name products as well
as special promotions.
The Dining Center sponsors the Birthday Cake & Anytime Treats program.
You can order your student a birthday cake in flavors they will enjoy,
inscribed with their name with a card and balloon from you.
You can also order other snacks, including a customizable package from you anytime.
Your student will be contacted on the designated day to pick up their package at the Dining Center (delivery is not available).
Please click here
to download the form and fax or email it to the Dining Center at least one week in advance
(or go to www.dineoncampus.com/sfsu and look on the Meal Plans tab, and click on For Parents).
