Installing Microsoft Office Updates
Microsoft periodically releases updates and security patches for the Microsoft Office suite. Certain Office programs, particularly Microsoft Outlook, are targeted by hackers frequently for security holes. We recommend you upgrade to Microsoft Office 2003 and install all Office Updates to prevent malicious attacks.
Requirements:
- In Windows XP and Windows 2000, you must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group.
- Microsoft Office cd(s) may be required to install Office updates.
How to Run Office Update
Note Some updates may require that you insert your Microsoft Office CD(s) into the CD/DVD drive of your computer. Some updates may require that you restart your computer. Save your work and close any open programs before beginning the installation process.
Launch Internet Explorer. - From the Tools menu in Internet Explorer select Windows Update.
- On the Windows Update home page, click Office Family or Office Update.
- Click on Check for Updates

You may see a dialog box asking about certificates or to update the installation engine. If you see this message, click ok.- You will see a progress bar as Microsoft checks for the Office Updates your PC needs.
- We recommend selecting all the Office Updates listed for your computer. Click Add to select the update of your choice and add it to the collection of updates you want to install. You can also read a full description of each item by clicking the Read more link.
- When you have selected all the updates you want, click Review and install updates, and then click Install Now.
