CSU ACADEMIC SPECIALTY CENTERS
San Francisco State University subscribes to four academic computing specialty centers, which can be used by faculty, staff and students to do research and enrich their academic experience. If you have any questions, contact Flor Buenafe-Oliva at (415) 338-2494.
- Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Specialty Center
- Used in many disciplines that use maps and mapped information.
- Social Sciences Database Archive, CSU Los Angeles
- The SSDBA is the social science and census data specialty center for the entire CSU system. The Social Science Data Base Archive (SSDBA) is a collection of social science related research studies. Data sources include The Inter-University Consor tium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR-University of Michigan), The Roper Center for Public Opinion Research (University of Connecticut), and The Field Institute-California Field Poll (San Francisco, California). SSDBA also provides access to the Dow Jones News Retrieval Services, LEGI-SLATE, and LEXIS-NEXIS information services.
- Engineering Specialty Center, CSU Sacramento
- Provides access to a wide range of Engineering software, training, and documentation. Systemwide licenses are in place with Autodesk, SDRC, Microstation, Parametric Technology and several other suppliers of engineering software.

- Macromolecular Structural Analysis Resource Center (MSARC)
- A collection of biocomputing and structural (DNA/protein) analysis computer databases, programs and libraries.
