Using Utree
Using UTREE Publication Number SFSXXXXX, A,
June 1994Utree is a Unix screen oriented file system browser. The Utree program helps you manage your files and directories stored in your account in a screen oriented manner. In the tree screen, you traverse through your directories or files with arrow keys, change to any directory and issue file management commands on your files or directories. If you change to a directory, Utree displays all the files in this directory in a file screen. In the file screen you move through the file list with the arrow keys and issue file management commands.
Utree HelpYou get online information about Utree by typing the Unix command "man utree" at the Unix command line. Alternatively, you can access help information by typing "h" while in the Utree program.
Utree Help Accessing UtreeYou access Utree by typing "utree -ac" at the Unix command prompt. The -a option instructs Utree to display all the files in all directories including files that begin with a dot (.), which are normally ignored. The -c option instructs Utree to not display and update a clock every second. You can obtain a list of Utree command line options by typing "utree -h" at the Unix command prompt.
You traverse through your directories and files in Utree's screens with the following keys:
