Removing Extra TCP/IP Network Components in Windows 95
A popular problem Dial-up connection problem in Windows 95 is caused becaused too many TCP/IP network components are installed in the Network Control Panel. Only one is necessary to obtain a Dial-up PPP connection. This document will provide instructions on how to remove extra TCP/IP network components.
- Click on the
button from the Windows taskbar select Settings => Control Panel.

- Double-click on the
icon in the Control Panel Window.
- Click on the
tab on top of your window.
- Locate all copies of TCP/IP network components that are installed. (You may need to scroll down to find all of them). You only need ONE TCP/IP stack.
- If you need to remove a TCP/IP network component (because you have more than one) then:
- Click once on the TCP/IP line.
- Then click the
button.
- Click the OK button.
- You should SKIP the Installing TCP/IP Network Support section in "Off Campus - Remote PPP Installation for Windows 95".

- If you have no TCP/IP network components or if you accidentally removed all your TCP/IP network components, then don't worry because the Windows 95 SFSU Internet Starter Kit will allow you to install a new TCP/IP stack.
- Now you are ready to install SFSU's Windows 95 Internet Starter Kit.
