NCSA Telnet
NCSA Telnet is a Telnet Client that runs on networked Macintoshes. NCSA Telnet is designed for Mac OS 7.x-9.x. If you are using a networked Macintosh computer on campus, it is likely that NCSA Telnet is already installed. If not, you can pick up a copy of NCSA Telnet here.
A crash course on how to use NCSA Telnet
- Start NCSA Telnet by clicking on the NCSA Telnet icon.
- After starting NCSA Telnet you will see a blank screen. Select 'Open Connection' from the 'File' menu.

- You will then see the following screen. Fill in the name of the host you wish to connect to. The available login hosts on the SFSU campus are apollo.sfsu.edu and libra.sfsu.edu.

- If you correctly entered all the information required in the previous step, you should see a sign on screen. The following is the top corner of a sample sign on screen, the rest of the screen was blank.
