Thesis / Dissertation / Written Creative Work Guideline

 

To graduate in the semester you finish your Thesis / Dissertation / Written Creative Work you must complete all of the following steps by the "Submission of Thesis / Dissertation / Written Creative Work Deadline" printed in the Schedule of Classes-University Calendar. Be sure to give yourself enough time to finalize all corrections and obtain the required signatures.

 

1. OBTAIN Thesis / Disseration / Written Creative Work Guidelines from the web http://www.sfsu.edu/~gradstdy/forms/thesis-dissertation-guidelines.pdf http://www.sfsu.edu/~gradstdy/forms/creative-work-guidelines.pdf.

2. USE the Thesis and Dissertation Checklist as a guide to ensure you are following the formatting requirements.

 

3. PRINT preliminary pages of your thesis on plain white paper (See Thesis / Dissertation / Written Creative Work Guidelines).

 

4. BRING completed Thesis and Dissertation Checklist AND preliminary pages AND any pages with charts, graphs, tables and special fonts or font sizes to the Graduate Studies ADM-254 for first FORMAT CHECK. You may bring your entire thesis if you want a more thorough review.

 

5. MAKE all corrections suggested by the Thesis / Dissertation / Written Creative Work Reviewer.

 

6. REPRINT the Preliminary Pages that you have corrected and/or reformatted.

 

7. BRING corrected manuscript for a final format check to the Thesis / Dissertation / Written Creative Work Reviewer.

 

8. MAKE A MASTER COPY and submit completed and approved Thesis / Dissertation / Written Creative Work on high quality white paper (paper available at Campus Copy Center).

 

9. GET "Certification of Approval" and Abstract pages signed off by up your Thesis / Dissertation / Written Creative Work Committee.

 

10. RETURN signed Thesis / Dissertation / Written Creative Work to the Graduate Studies ADM 250 in order to

 

11. RECEIVE signed Thesis / Written Creative Work Receipt or Dissertation Receipt from Thesis / Dissertation / Written Creative Work Reviewer then

 

12. TAKE the Signed Thesis / Written Creative Work Receipt or Dissertation Reciept with the Master copy or copies of your Thesis / Dissertation / Written Creative Work to Campus Copy Center (located in the Student Center, M110) to pay binding fees. A copy of the Thesis / Written Creative Work Receipt or Dissertation Receipt will be forwarded to the Graduate Studies to authorize graduation.

 

IMPORTANT: Keep your copy of the receipt until you have officially graduated and have received all additional thesis copies requested.
