Instructions For Submitting Application For Award Of Degree

 

1. Determine If You Are Eligible To Graduate

Make sure you have an approved Advancement to Candidacy (ATC) form and an approved Culminating Experience Proposal (CE) form on file with the Division of Graduate Studies before you submit your application. (Counseling students do not need to submit a Culminating Experience Proposal form.) You may contact the Graduate Studies office or you may check your MySFSU account to see if your forms have been approved. https://www.sfsu.edu/online/login.htm. You will not be allowed to submit an Application for Award of Degree form to the Division of Graduate Studies until your ATC and CE Proposal forms have been approved.

 

2. Prepare Application To Graduate

Once you have filled out the Application for Award of Degree, print out 2 copies of the form. Attach a copy of your ATC for your department chair/graduate coordinator to review. Sign the forms and obtain the signatures of your graduate coordinator or department chair. Submit 2 copies of the signed application, along with the application fee of $100 to the Division of Graduate Studies, ADM 250. After the initial due date, a $5 late fee will apply. 3. Submit Application To Graduate Studies

You may submit the application in person or by mail. If you plan to submit the application in person, please pay the fee at the Bursar's Office (located on the first floor of the Administration Building) BEFORE you submit the application to the Division of Graduate Studies. The Bursar's Office will be able to provide you with an official receipt, and they will stamp your application indicating that you have paid the fee. The Bursar's office accepts cash or check only. Or you can mail the 2 copies of the application with a check for the fee to the following address:

4. Submit Application To Graduate Studies

If you expect to earn your graduate degree in the Summer, but would like to participate in the commencement ceremony in May please choose the Spring/Summer option. This option will allow you to walk in the commencement ceremony, yet abide by Summer graduation deadlines for all degree requirements.


 Spring 2012 (1st deadline - $100 graduation application fee) ....... February 17

 

 Spring 2012 (Final deadline - $105 graduation application fee) ....... May 11
