Neighborhood Taskforce

San Francisco State University cherishes its standing as a valued part of the community and is committed to being recognized as a good neighbor. To facilitate collaboration and communication with our neighbors on issues surrounding student conduct and quality of life in the communities neighboring the campus, the University established the Neighborhood Taskforce in 2006. The Taskforce is a partnership between the University’s administration, faculty, and staff, its student leadership, our neighbors, and government officials and agencies. SF State's Neighborhood Taskforce envisions a strong university- neighborhood partnership, allied in efforts to create a harmonious community among students and their neighbors.

The Taskforce:

  • Provides a forum for community members and students to voice concerns regarding tensions that arise between university students and the greater community

  • Develops strategies and implements programs and initiatives (both responsive and pro-active) to address concerns raised by university and community

  • Serves as mechanism for gathering all of the “puzzle pieces” associated with addressing student/neighbor relations

  • Acts as conduit between interested parties for sharing of information and suggestions
