Flora
Once again, the understory of the Douglas fir community is very similar to the bishop pine. Walking through the forest along Inverness Ridge you are likely to discover California coffeeberry (Rhamnus californica), California hazel, Pacific madrone (Arbutus menziesii), western poison oak (Toxicodendron diversilobum), red elderberry (Ambucus racemosa), evergreen huckleberry (Vaccinium ovatum), thimbleberry (Rubus parviflorus) and blue blossom (Ceanothus thyrsiflorus) (Evens 1993; Johnston 1994; Kozloff and Beidleman, 1994; Kricher 1993). |
