Freshman (1st Year) Mandatory Advising Initiative
Part Three - Clearing Registration Holds
You can register during Early Priority Registration if you clear all holds.
Holds: take care of them early!
If you are of the following majors you have a "mandatory advising" hold until you meet with your department advisor:
- Engineering (all concentrations)
- Chemistry & BioChemistry
- Meteroology & Oceanography
- Economics
- Journalism
Other Holds
You need to look at your MySFSU [new window] site carefully to see if you have any other holds which will prevent you from registering for classes. Clear those holds in a timely manner.
Example: Jaime owes money for an overdue library book. He checks his registration time and sees he has a Financial Hold. He looks on MySFSU at his Financial Statemnt to see what obligations he has. He must pay owed fees to clear the financial hold.
