FEDERAL PERKINS LOAN

Federal student loan at 5% interest is offered to eligible undergraduate, second baccalaureate and credential students.

Enrollment requirement is full-time: 12 units for undergraduate and second baccalaureate students; 12 units for credential students.

  • Loans & Fiscal Services Office - Administrative Building Room 358.


    • First-time borrowers of a Perkins Loan at SFSU are required to complete Entrance Loan Counseling and Master Promissory Note on line at www.ecsi.net before a Perkins Loan check can be disbursed. To complete this process, you must use your federal PIN number.



    Repayment to SFSU begins 9 months after a student is no longer enrolled at least half-time. If a Perkins Loan is declined, it may be possible to increase a Work-Study award.
