To receive financial aid disbursement each semester, you must check your financial aid status on line and clear all financial aid holds:
All first time borrowers (Fall, Spring or Summer Semester) are required to complete Electronic Master Promissory Note and Loan Entrance Counseling on line before a loan can be disbursed
Federal Direct Loan
To complete Electronic Master Promissory Note and Loan Entrance Counseling on line at: www.studentloans.gov
Federal Perkins Loan
You must use your Federal PIN number to complete the Perkins loan process at: www.ecsi.net
Click on Students, eSign a Prommissory Note, San Francisco State University
Click on begin the Electronic signature process
Confirm your identity and complete steps 1-7.
Sign up for your class
Enroll in the number of units you indicated on your Financial Aid Offer.
Check Specific Holds on line
Check that you don't have any of the following holds placed in our system:
- Make Satisfactory Academic Progress
- Owed any Grant Examples: PELL, SUG, SEOG, or Cal grant
- Default on a Student Loan Examples: GSL, Perkins, Stafford or Direct Loans
- Selective Service
- INS and Identity holds. Student must provide appropriate documents required by our office to clear the hold.
- Unclassified graduates and some students enrolled through College Of Extended Learning are not eligible for any type of financial aid including student loans).
- Receiving Financial Aid at another school or college during the same school term.
