What to expect from the SF State Financial Aid Office

Verification Document Needed

SF State receives your FAFSA information from the processor approximately 3 weeks after you submit your FAFSA on the web. If we need additional documents, you will receive an email requesting tax return transcript and verification forms or you can check the "To Do List" on the SF State Gateway. Do not submit documents to our office unless requested to do so.

Financial Aid Award Offer

After we review your completed file, your Financial Aid Award Offer will be on the SF State Gateway for you to review and accept online. Your offer will include the amounts and types of financial aid awarded to meet your educational expenses, disbursement dates and information about your responsibilities as a financial aid recipient. Our office will send you an email when your award offer is ready to view on the SF State Gateway.
