To start the process for completing an electronic MPN, you will need to have your Department of Education issued PIN.

- The PIN (formerly called Electronic Access Code) which is available at http://pin.ed.gov
- You will also need certain hardware to complete the process. Please review the hardware requirements at the Master Promissory Note site.
- An electronic Master Promissory Note (MPN)
CAN BE COMPLETED in 10 STEPS. Please read the information at the MPN site to understand how the electronic MPN process works.
- Estimated time for the MPN completion is
30 minutes. If you exit the web site before submitting your signed MPN in Step 9 for any reason, you will have to start over beginning with Step 1.
