SF State Pre-Doctoral Scholar

 

Nikica Favretto, Civil Engineering undergraduate

 

Nik lived in Croatia, Italy, and Bosnia before coming to the San Francisco Bay Area, and had more than 10 years of international construction management and civil engineering design experience before joining the graduate program in Structural/Earthquake Engineering at San Francisco State University. He currently works on a research project under the mentoring of Prof. Cheng Chen that focuses on the reliability of Steel Plate Shear Walls.  After completing his M.S. he intends to pursue Ph.D. studies in Structural/ Earthquake Engineering. In his free time he explores the city with a photo camera documenting the social and architectural changes of the urban environment.
