CSU Trustees' Award
The CSU Trustees' Award recognizes students who have overcome adversity, demonstrated financial need, and have attributes of merit, including superior academic performance, significant personal achievements, and exemplary community service.
The award is for $6,000. The award amount will be greater for the highest scorer, usually $10,000.
Each year, S.F. State may nominate up to two students for this award.
Applicants must submit the following materials to S.F. State's Fellowship Advisor by the campus deadline: a complete application, including personal statement, transcripts from each institution the student has attended, a written version of a 3-minute speech, a video recording of the 3-minute speech (see the application for format rrequirements), and a short biography. For examples of what the biography should contain, see the biographies of last year's CSU Trustees' Award awardees: http://www.calstate.edu/foundation/trusteesawards/.
For the campus deadline, the video recording of the 3-minute speech does not need to be polished in terms of its production values. The nominee's speech will be recorded again for a polished result. For the campus deadline, students who do not have a means to record their 3-minute speech may contact Dr. Viveros to schedule an appointment to have their speech recorded.
Applicants must be able to document financial need. U.S. students must be receiving financial aid. International students should consult S.F. State's Fellowship Advisor for information about how to document financial need.
