Switzer Environmental Fellowship
Mary Brown was pursuing a master’s degree in geography at S.F. State when she won a Switzer Environmental Fellowship . The Foundation “identifies and nurtures environmental leaders who have the ability and determination to make a significant impact,” and found in Mary a scholar-activist “committed to developing viable options to private automobile-based transportation.” Formerly a Bicycle Network Director who “led the effort to build a network of linked bike lanes and paths in San Francisco,” Mary has gone on to work with the Planning Department of the City and County of San Francisco.
