Program Purpose
AAUW has a long and distinguished history of advancing educational and professional opportunities for women in the US and around the globe. One of the world's largest sources of funding for graduate women, it provides fellowships and grants to outstanding women and nonprofit organizations. Fellowship and grant recipients perform research in a wide range of disciplines and work to improve their schools and communities. Their intellect, dedication, imagination, and effort promise to forge new paths in scholarship, improve the quality of life for all, and tackle the educational and social barriers facing women throughout the world.
Program Description and Benefits
International fellowships for full-time female graduate students – who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. AAUE awards $18,000 for master's level students, $20,000 for Ph.D. students. Postdoctoral awards are also available. Supplemental grants support community-based projects in the fellow's home country.
Eligibility
Graduate (master's or doctoral) students in first or second year, or alumni who have applied to or enrolled in graduate program.
Citizenship
Citizens of countries other than the U.S.
Deadline
Usually December 1.
