DAAD Intensive Language Courses in Germany

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the German national agency for the support of international academic cooperation. It offers programs and funding for students, faculty, researchers and others in higher education, represents the German higher education system abroad, and promote Germany as an academic and research destination.
DAAD Intensive Language Course grants are awarded to full-time graduate students at North American universities to attend 8-week intensive language courses at leading institutes in Germany. Recipients are to devote their full attention to the course and may not concurrently undertake research.
The scholarship of approximately €2,300 includes tuition, accommodations, a cash allowance, travel subsidy, and health insurance. DAAD provides health and accident insurance and a travel subsidy of €300-450.
Student must have completed 3 three semesters of college German or achieved equivalent proficiency and may be enrolled in any field except English, German, or a modern language or literature.
Graduate students only.
U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Foreign nationals may be eligible if they have been full-time graduate students at a U.S. or Canadian university for at least 1 academic year.
