William Cavil, M.A.

Mr. Cavil holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, a Masters of Arts in social science and is a Doctoral Candidate at Western Institute for Social Research. Mr. Cavil has worked in the area of family research and development since 1975. He is currently the Director Community Development at The Institute for the Advanced Study of Black Family Life and Culture Inc., has served as training specialist for the Culturally Consistent Infant Mortality Reduction Project of Alameda County and is currently program specialist for Integrated HIV/Aids and Substance Abuse Prevention Project

Mr. Cavil has always been interested in our youth and has worked both as a professional and volunteer counselor for teen parents and juvenile offenders. His work includes, Black Male Development specialist at California Youth Authority O.H. Close School. He also has worked as an Education and Prevention specialist for adolescent pregnant girls on substance abuse during pregnancy and African-American adolescent males on HIV/AIDS Prevention. Mr. Cavil is CO-founder of HAWK Federation a Black male development Project.
