The DPRC regularly provides training to new students and new faculty through scheduled orientation programs. Individualized training sessions in disability-related issues are available to departments and colleges by request to the DPRC. Training sessions can be designed to accommodate the knowledge level, time restrictions and areas of interest of any group. Topics may include but are not limited to:

  • Federal laws: ADA, 504, 508
  • State laws: AB 2222, AB 6773, AB 422
  • Disability services on campus (accommodations)
  • Disability community, culture, and pride
  • Disability and multiculturalism
  • Rights and responsibilities of students, staff, and faculty
  • Universal design principles
  • Disability-specific information (e.g. blindness, learning disability, etc.)
