President's Task force
Charge to the President's Task Force on Accessible Electronic and Information Technology - San Francisco State University

This presidential task force will examine the current state of disability access to technology at SF State; develop a campus-wide Technology Access Transition Plan; and recommend to the president policies and implementing procedures that will ensure full and equal access to electronic and information technology (E&IT), promote the deployment of technology that enhances the effectiveness of all students, faculty and staff, and further encourage a campus culture that embraces disability access as a matter of social justice and equity.
The task force is charged with a short-term agenda that will focus on self-assessment and planning and a longer-term agenda that will emphasize ongoing evaluation and measurement of outcomes.
The short-term tasks for business of the task force are to:
• Establish and lead three Working Groups:
- Web Accessibility
- Instructional Materials Accessibility
- Accessible E&IT Procurement
• Conduct a campus-wide Self-Study
• Develop a Technology Access Transition Plan
• Recommend to the president those readily achievable actions that should be taken by appropriate areas of the University immediately.
Drawing from the Self-Study and the Technology Access Transition Plan, the task force, in consultation with the president and the Academic Senate, will develop a long-term agenda including the following tasks:
• Create and deploy training and technical assistance opportunities/materials
• Identify any needs for additional resources and recommend strategies for their procurement
• Lead ongoing evaluation and measurement of outcomes
• Suggest actions to continue improving campus efforts to ensure the maintenance, development and procurement of accessible E&IT.
The term of the task force will be determined within the context of the initiative.
