Student Administration Collaborative
The mission of the Student Adminstration Collaborative (SAC) is to develop, enhance, distribute, and support the common system used to manage the student and curriculum information of the collaborating CSU campuses and to provide other administrative systems services as required.
SIMS comprises software that supports curriculum, facility, and student processing for both the regular university and for extended education. It contains software for processing applications for admission, for establishing and maintaining student records, for determining eligibility for various types of registration, for performing registration via touchtone or terminal. The software supports add/drop, grading, degree processing, Permanent Academic Record maintenance and production of academic record products, including transcripts. It provides maintenance of catalog level course data, preparation of the schedule of classes, maintenance of the facility inventory, and preparation of ERS and APDB files.
SAC is the value-added distributor of the Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) which is licensed through Miami University of Ohio. The DARS product has been integrated into SIMS.
General Responsibilities:
Continue to enhance and expand the production Oracle client/server Student Information Management System (SIMS/R... "R" for relational), based on needs defined by the collaborating campuses. Continue to assist each campus in making local changes to the SIMS/R software.
Continue to provide consultation, training, and documentation support to each campus.
Undertake other administrative systems projects as directed by the SAC Board of Directors.
