IMPORTANT: VirusScan for Mac 8.6.1 fails to perform DAT updates after the Anti-Virus Engine has been upgraded to 5300 (5300.2777).
Solution
Download and install the October 13, 2008 reposted version of VirusScan for Mac 8.6.1.
- VirusScan for Mac 8.6.1 is now available for the Mac OS X Leopard operating system. It also supports Macintoshes with an Intel microprocessor as well as those with the PowerPC microprocessor that run the Mac OS X 10.4.6 or later Tiger operating system.
- VirusScan 8.7i Enterprise is now available for Windows Vista/XP. Support for VirusScan 7.0 ended June 30th, 2005. Everyone using 7.0 must upgrade in order to be protected against viruses. People using VirusScan 7.1 may continue to do so but are recommended to upgrade to take advantage of new features in VirusScan 8.5i.

- If you receive an email message warning you about viruses and urging you to forward the warning to everyone you know, please DON'T! We have never seen a legitimate warning that includes a request to forward the mail to other people. Check McAfee's or Trend Micro's hoax listings.
