Logins and Passwords
SF State has begun implementation of a single sign-on (SSO) service based on Shibboleth and LDAP that will allow access to many online campus services using a single set of credentials. Until SSO is fully implemented some SF State services have different logins and passwords. Here are some of the account types and credentials used at SF State:
LDAP
Used by: E-mail, Portal (inside.sfsu.edu/portal), mySFSU, iLearn, SHS Confidential Communicator
Login: SF State ID (also e-mail address for Exchange e-mail)
Password: SF State Password
Request Account: www.sfsu.edu/password or www.sfsu.edu/email
Change Password: www.sfsu.edu/password
AFS
Used by: wireless*, VPN*, libra.sfsu.edu, apollo.sfsu.edu, diana.sfsu.edu
Login: E-mail account name
Password: SF State Password
Change Password: www.sfsu.edu/password
Notes: AFS account names are 2 to 8 characters long.

Alanet
Used by: Administrative LAN / file sharing
Request Account: Alanet Account Request Form (Select Create Action Request)
Change Password: Alanet Account Request Form (Select Modify Action Request)
Administrative Accounts
Used by: ARM, CELIS, FACS, OSB, MVS, SIMS
