SF State tops fundraising goal for 2007-08
Generous alumni, parents and friends invested nearly $18 million in SF State’s students, faculty and programs this year – 11% more than projected – including an increasing number of multi-million dollar commitments.  Some 4,000 donors gave to the Annual Fund, a 9% increase over last year.  Corporate and foundation giving increased during each of the past two years.  With state funding now less dependable, SF State counts more than ever on private support to maintain access for the nearly 50% of our students who depend on financial assistance, to provide essential state of the art equipment, and to help fuel innovation.

“Alumni and friends were particularly generous this year,” said Donna Blakemore, associate vice president for advancement.  “That they share a commitment to keeping SF State accessible and affordable during uncertain economic times is fantastic. Their investment in the future of SF State and our deserving students is so very much appreciated.”
