Supporting San Francisco State
Help to ensure excellence and affordability in public higher education by making the kind of gift that is right for you.
San Francisco State University welcomes students of every economic circumstance, remaining true to its founding principle of “educating all who wish to learn, regardless of background.”

Due to state funding cuts and evolving socioeconomic demographics among our prospective students – who have never been more academically qualified in the University’s history – this commitment increasingly requires support from a growing number of alumni and friends.
Our students and their families, many of them both first generation immigrants and the first to attend college, are now dealing with increasing fees and other economic instability while living in one of the most expensive areas in the United States. National polls show that the American family no longer believes it can afford a college education. Industry layoffs have created financial uncertainty for many families. Your support is urgently needed.
You may choose to make an unrestricted gift to SF State, which enables the University to respond wherever the need is greatest, or you may designate your gift to a particular College, program or purpose. From an outright gift to a deferred gift, there are a variety of ways in which you may contribute to the University.
Please contact the Office of University Development at 415/338-1042 to discuss how to give the kind of gift that is right for you, or click here to send us an email.
The information you provide will be used for University business and will not be released unless required by law. All gifts are tax-deductible as prescribed by law.
