Donna Smith is our Department's Adminstrative Analyst. She has served the Department for the past 20+ years. Donna is a great resource person and can answer most questions regarding departmental and university policies and procedures. What she doesn't know, she can find out for you. Additionally, Donna is our liason to the College Office and she coordinates the assignment of our undergraduate majors to advisors. She is usually the first person you'll want to speak with whenever you need a question answered or a problem solved. Below are her hints for success in the Department:
- Come by the department office and introduce yourself. We like meeting our majors and it puts a face to a name.
- Be sure to get an advisor right away. Handouts with faculty names, office hours, office locations, and telephone numbers are available.
- See your advisor at least once every semester.
- Don't be afraid to ask questions about what to do and where to go.
The department staff are both knowledgeable and helpful and can save you time.
- If you need a University form, check first at the department office.
Most University petitions are available there. Undergraduate and graduate forms are also online.

Donna says: "The Communication Studies Department offers great programs taught by wonderful faculty. In addtion we have a nice staff who are here to help. Take advantage of the services we provide." |
