Core Requirements for Business Administration Majors

Effective Fall 2004

Core courses in the College of Business can be taken only three times at SFSU. Any attempt which appears on the transcript (including W, WU, I, CR, NC, AU, RD, and all letter grades) is counted toward the total of three attempts. Any student with two or moe attempts before Fall 2004 will be given one more attempt.

ENG 114 First- Year Written Composition 151 score or better on EPT,or approved exemption.
ENG 214 (or any approved secdond-year written composition course) Second-Year Written Composition C or better in ENG 114 or equivalent.
DS/MATH 110 (MATH 226 may be substituted for DS 110) Mathematical Analysis for Business 50 score or better on ELM, or approved exemption.
ECON 100 Introduction to Macroeconomic Analysis None.
ISYS 263 (or pass ISYS 263 Waiver Exam) Introduction to Information Systems

C- or better in DS/MATH 110.

ECON 101 Intro to Microeconomic Analysis II C- or better in ECON 100.
ACCT 100 Principles of Financial Accounting 50 score or better on ELM, or approved exemption.
ACCT 101 Principles of Managerial Accounting C- or better in ACCT 100 & DS/MATH 110.
DS 212 Business Statistics C- or better in DS/MATH 110 or MATH 226.
IBUS 330 International Business and Multicultural Relations None.
FIN 350 Business Finance C- or better in ACCT 101, ECON 101, DS/MATH 110, DS 212 & ISYS 263 (or pass ISYS 263 Waiver Exam).
BUS 360 Business Communication C- or better in SPCH 150 (ENG 210), ENG 214 (ENG 310), and pass JEPET or equivalent (ENG 410/411/414).
ISYS 363 Information Systems for Management

(Accounting concentration students must take ACCT 307 in place of ISYS 363.)		 C- or better ACCT 101, DS 212, ISYS 263 (or pass ISYS 263 Waiver Exam). (See Bulletin for ACCT 307 prerequisites).
MGMT 405* Introduction to Management and Organizational Behavior C- or better in ENG 214.
MGMT 407* Economics for Managers C- or better in DS/MATH 110, ECON 100 & 101.
DS 412 Operations Management C- or better in DS/MATH 110, DS 212, ISYS 263 (or pass ISYS 263 Waiver Exam).
MKTG 431 Principles of Marketing C- or better in ENG 214, ECON 100 & 101.
BUS 682* Seminar in the Environment of Business C- or better in BUS 360 & MGMT 405.
BUS 690* Seminar in Business Policy & Strategic Management C- or better in ISYS 363 or ACCT 307, FIN 350, DS 412, MKTG 431, BUS 36 & MGMT 405.
