About SFSU IS Projects > Documentation > Spring 2007 Faculty Processing

The followings are the documentation and instructions for faculty transaction processing for spring 2007:

1. ETRAC_FAC_INSTR_SPR2007.doc provides general guidelines and instructions for regular temporary, TA/GA and tenured/tenure-track faculty transaction processing.

2. SPRING07_FAC_ETRAC_QUICKREF.doc is a detailed quick reference guide for re-appointing temporary faculty/GA/TA effective spring 2007.

3. For all spring 2007 faculty transaction processing, you will need to reference my previous memos and attached reports:

"Temporary Faculty--FINAL General Entitlement Listings 2006-2007 Academic Year", dated August 8, 2006
LECT_ENTLMNT_0607_XXX.xls
"Three-Year Appointments for Temporary Faculty 2006-2009 College Eligibility Listings", dated July 11, 2006

With no new faculty contract ratified at this time, re-appointed faculty shall be hired at the current/most recent base salary (no SSI processing until a new contract is ratified). The 3.50% GSI effective 7/1/2005 for faculty and 10/1/2005 & 10/1/2006 for GA/TA were applied to salary bases in HRMS for employees who were active as of the effective date of the GSI. You must adjust the salary base for spring 2006 appointees whose last appointment was prior to the recent GSI's.

All decentralized faculty, TA and GA transactions will be processed using E-TRAC. Please make sure the appropriate employees in your area have attended E-TRAC training for faculty creator/approver or are registered for training. Please check your email for E-TRAC faculty manual updates.

PLEASE NOTE: Teaching Associates (TA) and Graduate Assistants (GA) are covered by the Unit 11 UAW bargaining Agreement. GA’s and TA’s (and hourly ISA’s) will require signed appointment letters to be included with current hiring documentation, to be completed at the college or department offices. James Czaja, Director of Employee Relations in Human Resources will be providing appointment letter templates and comprehensive instructions and guidelines with respect to the employment of GA, TA and ISA’s pursuant to the agreement between the CSU and the UAW (Unit 11) and the current R11 Contract. For reference, see: http://www.calstate.edu/LaborRel/Contracts_HTML/CBA_Contract/index.shtml
