Mission of the Confucius Institute at San Francisco State University

The mission of the Confucius Institute at San Francisco State University is to promote understanding of the Chinese language and culture through facilitating instruction. The Confucius Institute at San Francisco State University is established as a response to the increasing need for learning Chinese in the United States. The institute provides professional Chinese language training to the community, well as training for teachers of Chinese as a foreign language, develops teaching materials and curriculum, and promotes educational exchange, research, and cooperation between the United States and the People's Republic of China. San Francisco State University is the first Western United States home for the Confucius Institute. The institute is dedicated to providing:
