Chinese Language Education Forum (CLEF) is to build up an exchange platform for K-16 teachers, policymakers, educational administrators, heritage language instructors, and product and service providers in the field of Chinese language education. The Forum will also highlight the 2010 Chinese Teaching Conference of Confucius Institutes in the US & Canada and a comprehensive Chinese Language Materials Expo. CLEF 2010 will feature the following five major areas:
- Curriculum, materials, and articulation of different Chinese programs (immersion programs, foreign language programs, heritage language programs, college programs, etc)
- Pedagogy, technologies and classroom management
- New achievements and trends in Chinese language studies and their implications in teaching Chinese as a second language
- Cultural integration in Chinese language education
- Confucius Institutes: Program development, teacher preparation and professional development, guest teachers , community outreach and US-China two-way exchanges
