Exhibition of Award-Winning Paintings Successfully Held at Asian Art Museum

       To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Confucius Institutes, Confucius Institute at San Francisco State University (CI at SF State) jointly hosted an Exhibition of Award-Winning Paintings/drawings from 2008-2014 Chinese Bridge Cup Contests (CBCC) with Asian Art Museum. The exhibition attracted over one thousand enthusiastic individuals from the Bay Area communities.
        Founded in 1966, the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco is uniquely positioned to lead a diverse, global audience in discovering the distinctive materials, aesthetics and intellectual achievements of Asian arts and cultures, and to serve as a bridge of understanding between Asia and the United States and between the diverse cultures of Asia. As the first home of Confucius Institute on the west coast, the mission of the Confucius Institute at San Francisco State University is to promote understanding of the Chinese language and culture through facilitating instruction, both in the classroom and beyond. CI at SF State has been hosting the Chinese Bridge Cup Contests for years, offering a great stage for those talented young artists.
        The exhibition was held in the famous Samsung Hall at Asian Art Museum, which was greatly welcomed and admired by the students and parents presented in the exhibition. After this key exhibition, there will be a series of events hosted by CI at SF State to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Confucius Institutes.



“汉语桥杯”历届冠军作品展于旧金山亚洲艺术博物馆举办
   ——庆祝孔子学院成立十周年系列活动之一


        2014年9月7日,旧金山州立大学孔子学院与亚洲艺术博物馆联合举办庆祝孔子学院成立十周年画展。参展作品选自2008年以来旧金山湾区“汉语桥杯”比赛中的冠军作品。各界来宾,参赛学生及家长逾千人出席本次活动。

        旧金山州立大学吴彦伯副校长在开幕辞中强调语言学习和文化交流对建立和平世界的重要性,并表示旧金山州大孔子学院将一如既往,全力支持旧金山地区汉语教学及中美文化交流。亚洲艺术博物馆语言教育部部长Deb Clearwaters女士在致辞中表示期望与旧金山州大孔院进一步加强合作,共同推广中国文化。有多幅作品参展的学生代表Sophia Qin和Alex Sima与现场观众分享了参加“汉语桥杯”比赛的快乐经历。

        在精彩的古筝伴奏下,加州大学伯克利分校艺术系周爱琴教授在画展现场亲自挥毫,为观众展示毛笔书法独特的艺术魅力。开幕式之后,参展观众不断聚集,欣赏画作之余,许多人坐了下来,在现场艺术家的指点下静心临摹,有华发已生的老人,活泼热情的青年,更有充满探索欲望的孩子。

      旧金山亚洲艺术博物馆成立于1966年,是一座以收藏亚洲文物尤其是中国文物为主的、在全美拥有亚洲艺术藏品最多的博物馆。作为美西地区首家孔子学院,旧金山州大孔院多年来主办“汉语桥杯”比赛,发掘并培养了众多书画“小艺术家”。亚洲艺术博物馆特意将本次画展安排在全馆最为辉煌的三星厅,让参展的小艺术家及家长们倍感自豪。

      本次画展是旧金山州大孔院为庆祝孔子学院成立十周年举办的系列活动之一。近期州大孔院还将陆续推出更多文化活动,进一步推动北加州地区中文教学与文化事业的发展。
