Program

Since 2009, the Confucius Institute at San Francisco State University has hosted or co-hosted Chinese Culture Performances by China university student troupes sponsored by Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters. As the first home for Confucius Institute on the west coast, we had opportunities to presented performances by Beijing Normal University, Central China Normal University, Northeast Normal University, East China Normal University, Tianjin University, and Beijing Jiaotong University.  

“Confucius Institute Performance Tour” is one of our major Chinese culture programs as a bridge to connect American students with Chinese language and culture, and rich history of China. To better serve our students and further support local schools and communities in learning Chinese language and culture, we are going to invite Beijing Sport University Performing Troupe to kick off “Confucius Institute Gala – Chinese Culture Performance 2013” in Northern California. 25 performers will present Chinese martial arts, Kung Fu, and traditional Chinese sports, music and dances.
