Fall 2011 Chinese Language & Culture Classes
(14-Week Classes: September 6th – December 16th)
Basic Chinese I
Basic Chinese I is designed for students without previous Chinese training, covering basic pronunciation, sentence patterns, reading, writing, conversation and grammar.
Time: Tuesdays 19:00-21:00 Classroom: HUM 382
Basic Chinese II
Basic Chinese II is designed for students with one-semester learning experience to improve their basic communicative skills toward intermediate level studies in pronunciation, sentences patterns, reading, writing, conversation and grammar.
Time: Wednesdays 18:30-20:30 Classroom: HUM 277
Basic Chinese III
Basic Chinese III is designed for students with two-semester learning experience to further advance their Chinese language proficiency in communicating with native speakers.
Time: Thursdays 18:30-20:30 Classroom: HUM 122
Mandarin Training for Cantonese Speakers
This class is specifically designed for Cantonese speakers who are interested in speaking Mandarin (PutongHua).
Time: Tuesdays 19:00-21:00 Classroom: HUM 119
Mandarin for High School Students I
This class is designed for high schools students who are interested in learning Mandarin from very beginning, developing communicative skills and basic knowledge of Chinese language.
Time: Saturdays 10:00-12:00 Classroom: HUM 132
Mandarin for High School Students II
This class is designed for high school students with one semester learning experiences or equivalent language proficiency and skills who are interested in further improving their knowledge and skills.
Time: Saturdays 13:00-15:00 Classroom: HUM 583
