Spring 2010
Chinese Lesson Demo & Exchange

Teachers are playing the most important role in connecting students with the language and culture. To bring Chinese language and culture to our classrooms, we need to train sufficient qualified teachers to ensure excellence in teaching.

The Confucius Institute at SF State intends to present this Chinese Lesson Demo & Exchange program, an opportunity for elementary/secondary school Chinese language teachers to remain informed about the latest development in methods and teaching strategies, to expand their knowledge and abilities and to help them promote student learning. Three presenters are senior language teachers with rich teaching experiences at local schools. Each of them will demonstrate 30-minute classroom teaching, applying their hands-on expertise to teaching Chinese at pre-school, elementary and high school levels. Q & A and discussion will be followed, trying to get all participating teachers involved. We hope that this program will meet their professional needs.
