Meeting the Global Demand for Chinese Instruction

    The First International Conference on Teaching Chinese as a Second Language (TCSL) is a professional development conference for Chinese language teachers and practitioners to advance the teaching and learning of Chinese in the US. The Confucius Institute at San Francisco State University has invited local and world-renowned speakers to give empowering keynote speeches, lead panel discussions and workshops to address your professional needs. This one-day conference will be a valuable experience for those who are interested in innovative TCSL curriculum designs and teaching, and for those who have an interest to advance their students' Chinese language ability. All K-12 teachers, administrators, heritage school teachers and parents are cordially invited to attend all sessions.

    为配合世界性对中文教学之需求，第一届中文作为第二语言教学国际研讨会(TCSL)将 于三藩市州立大学(SFSU)召开。这次会议是专为在美国教授中文的老师及前线教育者而设之职训研讨会，以加强美国中文的教与学。主办单位三藩市州立大学 孔子学院，邀请了世界知名的第二语言习得的专家及中文教学学者主讲，并由本地资深教育工作者帶领小组讨论及工作坊，以配合各教师之需要。研讨会为期一天， 会分享中文作为第二语言的教材设计，及课堂的实际教学经验。有志于提升学生中文水平的老师，参与这次会议必能获益良多。我们欢迎中小学、私立中文学校的老 师、校长、教育行政人员及家长参加这次盛会。
