Parents and family members are important partners with the Career Center in helping students fulfill their career dreams. This section contains several resources for helping your family member succeed.

Career Planning for Family Members

Many first-time-freshmen coming to SF State have decided to attend college but don't seem to have a clue as to what he or she wants to major in, let alone choose as a career.

In collaboration with the Career Center, you can assist and support your family member in making these decisions.

  • Discuss their ideas and concerns about career-related issues
  • Make effective career decisions
  • Learn how to do a professional job search
