Partners in Progress : (4) Funding programs tailored to meet California's unique needs around fulfilling the civic mission of education (through teacher preparation, civic engagement, and service learning).
In the past few years, we have suddenly become more aware of our vulnerabilities as a nation. We have been advised to develop programs to prepare for different kind of emergencies. Institutions of higher education are well positioned to promote civic awareness and involvement among students by partnering with surrounding communities to offer volunteer and community service opportunities. CACC helps such institutions by providing funding for innovative programs that promotes civic education through service learning, teacher preparation and partnership development.
