Assistance in purchasing hardware and software

The University has a contract with ASAP Software for virtually all Microsoft products. Access the Microsoft Campus Agreement.

The University has special discount agreements for computer hardware with various computer vendors.

For assistance with ordering computer systems and accessories (obtaining education quotes, pricing, and order placement), please contact Karl Schackne.

Equipment

• 4  PC carts (2 with computer projectors) (BUS 209)
• 5 transparency portable projectors for offsite use

Cart Policy

• College of Business faculty and staff can check out computer projection carts. The equipment must be picked up personally by the faculty or staff member.
• Computer projection carts are to be used only in the Business building.
• Faculty can check out equipment for use in other buildings through the Audio Visual Web site (x81494). Audio Visual will pick up and deliver equipment.
• Reserved equipment not picked up within 20 minutes of the scheduled time will be given to another faculty member as needed.

Overhead projectors

Each classroom in the BUS building is equipped with an overhead projector for transparencies. Contact the Help Desk if a bulb needs to be replaced or if a projector needs cleaning.

Please:

• request a new bulb before both bulbs are burned out
• do not attempt to clean the projector lenses and mirrors. A special cleaning fluid and cloth are required to avoid damage to the lenses and the mirrors can only be cleaned with canned air.

Portable computer projectors

For classrooms in other buildings, Business faculty can reserve a portable projector from the Consultant Desk in the main lab, BUS 209 or call x81812 or email buslab@sfsu.edu. Check the AV Online Classroom Database to see how the classroom is equipped.

Go to BUS 209 and use the reservation book at the Consultant Desk or contact Tony Chan.
