Withdrawal from the University- Pro-Rata Refund of Registration Fees and Non-Resident Tuition
The pro-rata refund is determined on the basis of the student's withdrawal date and the length of the session. The length of the session is calculated from the first day of instruction through final exams of the registered session/s and excludes any breaks of five days or more. Refund checks are processed and forwarded to the student's address within 2-3 weeks of the official withdrawal date.

Example A
An undergraduate resident student enrolls for 6 units, paying the $885.00 State University Fee and $121.00 in local fees (total paid: $1,006). The Student withdraws 11 days into the 33-day session of R1. The student was enrolled for 33.3 percent of the session and receives a refund of 66.7 percent of the total registration fee, $651.00 ($671.00 less $20.00 administrative fee).

Example B
A graduate international student enrolls for 6 units, paying the $1,089.00 State University Fee, $2,034 (6 units x $339) Non-resident Tuition, and $121.00 local fees (total fees paid: $3,244.00). The student withdraws 20 days into the 54-day session of R2. The student was enrolled for 37.0 percent of the session and receives a refund of 63 percent of the total registration fee, $2,023.72 ($2,043.72 less $20.00 administrative fee).

Example C
An undergraduate resident student enrolls for 6 units (3 units in R1 and 3 units in R3), paying the $885.00 State University Fee and $121.00 local fees (total fees paid: $1,006.00). The student drops all the 6 units and withdraws on the 11th day of the R1 session. The student was enrolled for 16.2 percent of the combined sessions (the 11th day over the 68-day period of the combined R1 and R3 sessions) and receives a refund of 83.8 percent of the total registration fee, $823.03 ($843.03 less $20.00 administrative fee).

The student withdraws on the 20th day of the R1 session. The student was enrolled for 29.4 percent of the combined sessions (the 20th day over the 68-day period of the combined R1 and R2 sessions) and receives a refund of 70.6 percent of the total fees paid, $2,270.26 ($2,290.26 less $20.00 administrative fee).
