Refund Guidelines and Deadlines

Fall 2012

Direct Deposit Refund

Direct Deposit: It is the policy of San Francisco State University to use electronic funds transfer (EFT) for the timely disbursement of all financial aid and scholarship refunds. Electronic file transfer, better known as direct deposit, is consistent with the CSU policy of adapting a safe, efficient, and cost-effective method of transmitting financial aid and/or scholarship balance payments directly to students. By signing up for direct deposit, your funds are sent in a secure, efficient, and timely manner. You do not need to wait for your checks in the mail, nor spend time going to the bank to deposit checks. Your money is electronically deposited into your account which greatly reduces the potential for identity theft, as well as eliminating the risk of the check being lost or stolen in the mail.

To sign up for direct deposit online visiting http://www.sfsu.edu/~finaid/ and selecting the "Direct Deposit" link in the left column of the website.

  • Enter your SF State ID and password
  • Once authenticated, select "Sign-up and Manage Direct Deposit"
  • Enter the required bank information
  • Review the terms and conditions and hit the [Submit] button. A print option is available should you wish to keep a copy for your records.

Please review the information you entered for accuracy. If the information is incorrect, you may go back to the "Direct Deposit" link and make your corrections.
