Financial Aid Disbursement Information
Spring 2012
Financial Aid Disbursement- Disbursement Deductions and Billing Procedures
Insufficient Aid: If the Financial Aid award is not sufficient to pay for fees, it is the student’s responsibility to have the fees paid in full by the fee payment deadline. A non-refundable $20 administrative fee is charged if fees are not paid by fee payment deadline.
Deductions: Registration fees and tuition, housing room and board, Short-Term loans, and other outstanding institutional costs are deducted from the Financial Aid disbursement. If a student or former student fails to pay a debt owed to the institution, the University may "withhold permission to register; to use facilities for which a fee is authorized to be charged; to receive services, materials, food, or merchandise, or any combination of the above from any person owing a debt until the debt is paid" (see Title V, California Code of Regulations, Sections 42380 and 42381). If a fee was deducted in error, contact the Bursar's Office at (415) 338-1281 or go to the Bursar's Office at ADM 155 or SSB 103.
Paying Prior-Year Charges: Financial Aid for the current award year cannot be used to pay prior academic year outstanding charges in excess of $200. The academic year consists of the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
