Unit Load Change for Residents: Partial Refund of MBA/MSBA Professional Fee
Deadline: January 25, 2010 - February 5, 2010 (On the First Day of Instruction through the Published Drop Deadline Date)
Eligibility: A MBA/MSBA students who drops units on or before February 5, 2010, shall be entitled to a pro-rata refund of applicable tuition less an administrative fee of $20.00. The pro-rata refund is determined on the basis of the drop date that results in a lower tuition charge and the length of the semester. The length of the semester is calculated from the first day of instruction through final exams and excludes any breaks of five (5) days or more.
For Spring 2010 semester, the total number of days from the first day of instruction (January 25, 2010) through the last day of final exams (May 21, 2010) is 112. The calculation excludes any breaks of five (5) days or more.
Calculation: Students will receive a pro-rata refund less an administrative fee of $20.00. Refund checks are processed and forwarded to the student's home address on file within two - three weeks from the published drop date of February 5, 2010. A refund request form is not required unless students want to expedite the refund check processing which is normally ten business days from the date the Bursar's Office staff receives and stamps the refund form.

For Example: An graduate MBA or MSBA Student enrolls for 12 units, paying the $2,481 State University Fee, $1,200 MBA/MSBA Program Fee, $2,520 MBA/MSBA Professional Fee, and $357 local fees (total fees paid: $6,201). The student drops a 3 unit MBA/MSBA course (3 units at $210 = $630) 5 days into the 112 day semester. Student was enrolled for 4.5% of the 3-unit MBA/MSBA course and receives a refund of 95.5% of the MBA/MSBA Professional Fee for the 3 units, $581.65 ($601.65 less $20 administrative fee).
Note: Students will not be eligible for MBA/MSBA Professional Fee refund for unit load change that results in lower MBA/MSBA Professional Fee charge after the Published Drop Deadline Date of February 5, 2010 unless a total withdrawal or cancellation of all classes takes place by October 30, 2009.
