ENG 690 : Radical Literature

Prerequisites: Senior; major/minor; successful completion of ENG 480 with a grade of C or better, or consent of instructor; priority given to ENG literature and ENG education majors in their senior year.
Description: Radical American literature primarily between 1840 and 1960 in its social, historical, and cultural contexts. Readings include utopian novels, verse, magazines, manifestos, social realism, autobiographies, drama and agitprop theatre, along with selections in criticism, philosophy, and theory.
