CINE 508 : Romantic Comedy: Lubitsch and Wilder

Prerequisites: CINE 340 and CINE 341; or consent of instructor.
Description: Ernst Lubitsch and his protege Billy Wilder, two great German emigre directors, transformed Hollywood in their images as they developed the romantic comedy genre, one of the most popular and meaningful expressions of social commentary in the American cinema.
